Shadow is so devoted for Maria. Me, someone who has a sibling,would never be this obsessive about my sibling, it seems weird to me peoplr see this relationship as it. Shadow is obsessed with Maria and what did she think. If she was like a sibling to him he wouldnt throw away his own desires to do what he think she wanted.
Shadow and Maria are not siblings
Growing up together doesnt mean they are siblings. There are barely any info about what their daily lives were like. We dont know if they lived their daily life in the same apartment of the Ark. Shadow never refers to Gerald as his dad or Maria to a sister. The canon says they are friends nothing more nothing less.
